नकुल उवाच
The verse praises dharma grounded in inner discipline: even while living with family, one can pursue tapas, maintain purity of conduct (śuklavṛtta), and restrain the senses (niyatendriya), making ethical self-mastery the basis of righteousness.
Nakula describes a Brahmin who, together with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law, lives in a family setting yet remains devoted to austerity and moral purity, characterized as righteous and self-controlled.
