Book 14, Chapter 43

अहिंसा परमो धर्मो हिंसा चाधर्मलक्षणा । प्रकाशलक्षणा देवा मनुष्या: कर्मलक्षणा:

ahiṃsā paramo dharmo hiṃsā cādharmalakṣaṇā | prakāśalakṣaṇā devā manuṣyāḥ karmalakṣaṇāḥ ||

বায়ুৱে ক’লে—এতিয়া মই সকলো প্ৰাণীৰ স্থিৰ কৰ্তব্যৰ লক্ষণ বৰ্ণনা কৰিম। অহিংসাই পৰম ধৰ্ম; হিংসাই অধৰ্মৰ চিহ্ন। দেৱতাসকল তেজে চিনাক্ত, আৰু মানুহ কৰ্মে—বিশেষকৈ যজ্ঞাদি বিধিকৰ্মে—চিনাক্ত।
