nānvabudhyata tad rājā kuntīputro yudhiṣṭhiraḥ
Even a righteous king like Yudhiṣṭhira can be clouded by grief and ethical burden; dharma is not merely knowing rules but sustaining clarity of judgment amid sorrow and complex duties.
The narrator states that Yudhiṣṭhira, addressed by his royal and familial epithets, fails to grasp a particular point or implication at that moment, indicating confusion or inability to read the unfolding situation in the Āśramavāsika context.
