Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca—dānaṁ yajñaḥ kriyā ceha kiṁsvit pretya mahāphalam | kasya jyāyaḥ phalaṁ prokte kīdṛśebhyaḥ kathaṁ kadā ||
যুধিষ্ঠিৰে ক’লে— হে ভাৰত! দান, যজ্ঞ আৰু এই লোকৰ ধৰ্মক্ৰিয়াসমূহৰ ভিতৰত মৃত্যুৰ পাছত মহাফল দিয়া কোনটো? দান আৰু যজ্ঞ— এই দুটাৰ ভিতৰত কাৰ ফল শ্ৰেষ্ঠ বুলি কোৱা হৈছে? কেনে ধৰণৰ ব্ৰাহ্মণক, কেতিয়া আৰু কেনেকৈ দান দিব লাগে? আৰু কোন পদ্ধতিত, কোন সময়ত যজ্ঞ কৰিব লাগে? মই এই কথা যথাৰ্থভাৱে জানিব বিচাৰোঁ। হে বিদ্বান! মোক দানধৰ্ম বিস্তাৰে বুজাই কওক।
