Vipulopākhyāna—Ruci-rakṣā and Śakra’s Māyā (विपुलोपाख्यानम्—रुचिरक्षणं शक्रमाया च)
भीष्म उवाच क्रिया भवति केषांचिदुपांशुव्रतमुत्तमम् । यो यो याचेत यत् किज्चित् सर्व दद्याम इत्यपि
bhīṣma uvāca
kriyā bhavati keṣāñcid upāṃśu-vratam uttamam |
yo yo yāceta yat kiñcit sarvaṃ dadyām ity api ||
ভীষ্মে ক’লে— যুধিষ্ঠিৰ! কিছুমানৰ বাবে যজ্ঞকর্ম, গুৰুদক্ষিণা, কুটুম্বপালন আদি কৰ্মই অভীষ্ট; আৰু কিছুমানৰ বাবে উপাংশু—মৌন-সংযমৰ ব্ৰত—শ্ৰেষ্ঠ শাসন। সেয়ে যি যাচকে যি কিবা বিচাৰে, তাৰ প্ৰতি ‘মই দিম’ এই ভাব ৰাখিব লাগে; কাকো নিৰাশ কৰি উভতাই পঠোৱা উচিত নহয়।
