भीष्म उवाच इदं शृणु महाप्राज्ञ धर्मपुत्र महायश: । इतिहासं पुरावृत्तं शरणार्थ महाफलम्‌

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca idaṃ śṛṇu mahāprājña dharmaputra mahāyaśaḥ | itihāsaṃ purāvṛttaṃ śaraṇārtha mahāphalam ||

Translation

ভীষ্মে ক’লে—হে মহাপ্ৰাজ্ঞ, মহাযশস্বী ধৰ্মপুত্ৰ! শৰণাগতক ৰক্ষা কৰিলে যি মহান ফল লাভ হয়, সেই বিষয়ে এই প্ৰাচীন ইতিহাস শুনা।
