Chapter 2: Sudarśana Upākhyāna — Atithi-Dharma and the Conquest of Mṛtyu
Gṛhastha-Vrata
तान् दर्शयामास तदा भगवान् हव्यवाहन: । स्वं रूप॑ दीप्तिमत् कृत्वा शरदर्कसमद्युति:
tān darśayāmāsa tadā bhagavān havyavāhanaḥ | svaṁ rūpaṁ dīptimat kṛtvā śarad-arka-samad-yutiḥ ||
তেতিয়া ভগৱান হব্যবাহন (অগ্নি) নিজ দীপ্তিমান ৰূপ ধাৰণ কৰি, শৰৎকালৰ সূৰ্যৰ দৰে জ্যোতিষ্মান হৈ সেই ব্ৰাহ্মণসকলক দৰ্শন দিলে।
भीष्म उवाच
When dharma is upheld through sincere, properly performed sacred duty, it gains moral and spiritual efficacy; the divine is portrayed as responding to such integrity by granting confirmation (darśana).
Agni (Havyavāhana), taking on a brilliantly radiant form like the autumn sun, appears before the brāhmaṇas and grants them a direct vision of himself.
