भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma teaches that faithful recitation of a sacred name-list (nāma-mālā) is believed to generate protective and beneficent results: prosperity in agriculture and safety in travel. The ethical emphasis is on śraddhā (trustful reverence) and disciplined remembrance as supports for welfare (kṣema) in daily life.
In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma continues instructing Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma and religious observances. Here he states specific ‘fruits’ (phala) of reciting the prescribed name-list: crops flourish when recited in fields, and journeys conclude safely when recited while going to another village.
