As a colophon, the verse does not teach a new doctrine directly; it frames the narrative ethically by emphasizing textual order and completion—reminding the reader that the Śakuntalā episode belongs to the epic’s larger inquiry into origins, legitimacy, lineage, and the dharmic foundations of kingship.
The narrator signals the end of the Śakuntalā-upākhyāna within the Sambhava Parva of the Ādi Parva, formally closing the sixty-ninth chapter and preparing the transition to the next portion of the origin narrative.
