Educational Q&A

The verse frames the epic’s ethical architecture: dharma is clarified through formal instruction (Ānuśāsanika), and the culmination of a life of vows and righteousness is shown through Bhīṣma’s final transition (Svargārohaṇika), linking moral teaching with its ultimate consequence.

This is a catalog-style statement naming the sequence of major sections (parvas): first the Ānuśāsanika Parva, focused on authoritative guidance about right and wrong conduct, and then the Svargārohaṇika Parva, recounting the wise Bhīṣma’s ascent to heaven.
