वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical weight of pratijñā (a pledged word): once given, it should be honored through prompt action. Even in a context involving a rākṣasī, the narrative stresses commitment and follow-through as a form of dharmic reliability.
Hiḍimbā agrees to the stated condition (“tathā”) and formally promises it. She then physically takes Bhīmasena and ascends upward into the sky, marking a swift transition to the next scene through her supernatural ability.
