भासं पश्यसि यद्येनं तथा ब्रूहि पुनर्वच: । शिर: पश्यामि भासस्य न गात्रमिति सो<ब्रवीत्,“वत्स! यदि तुम इस गीधको देखते हो तो फिर बताओ, उसके अंग कैसे हैं?” अर्जुन बोले--'मैं गीधका मस्तकभर देख रहा हूँ, उसके सम्पूर्ण शरीरको नहीं”
vaiśampāyana uvāca | bhāsaṃ paśyasi yady enaṃ tathā brūhi punarvacaḥ | śiraḥ paśyāmi bhāsasya na gātram iti so ’bravīt ||
দ্ৰোণে ক’লে—“যদি তুমি সেই ভাস পখীটোক দেখিছা, তেন্তে পুনৰ কোৱা—তুমি ঠিক কি দেখিছা?” অৰ্জুনে ক’লে—“মই ভাসৰ কেৱল মূৰটো দেখিছোঁ; দেহ নেদেখোঁ।”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
To cultivate disciplined perception and truthful speech: one should report only what is actually seen, with precise focus, without exaggeration or distraction.
In a training context, the teacher questions the student about a visible target (a hawk). Arjuna answers with strict accuracy, stating he sees only the head and not the rest of the body, demonstrating concentrated attention.
