विकारं न हाृजनयत् सुतीक्षणमपि तद् विषम् । भीमसंहनने भीमे अजीर्यत वृकोदरे,यद्यपि वह विष बड़ा तेज था, तो भी उनके लिये कोई बिगाड़ न कर सका। भयंकर शरीरवाले भीमसेनके उदरमें वृक नामकी अग्नि थी; अतः वहाँ जाकर वह विष पच गया
Vaiśampāyana uvāca |
vikāraṃ na hājanayat sutīkṣṇam api tad viṣam |
bhīmasaṃhanane bhīme ajīryata vṛkodare ||
বৈশম্পায়নে ক’লে—অত্যন্ত তীক্ষ্ণ আৰু প্ৰবল সেই বিষেও ভীমৰ কোনো বিকাৰ ঘটাব নোৱাৰিলে। ভয়ংকৰ দেহধাৰী মহাবলী বৃকোদৰৰ উদৰৰ অন্তৰ্গত অগ্নিয়ে তাক জীৰ্ণ কৰি পেলালে; সেয়ে অনিষ্টৰ অভিপ্ৰায় ব্যৰ্থ হ’ল।
