Brahmā’s Boons, Hiraṇyakaśipu’s Cosmic Tyranny, and Prahlāda’s Transcendental Qualities
यस्मिन्महद्गुणा राजन्गृह्यन्ते कविभिर्मुहु: । न तेऽधुना पिधीयन्ते यथा भगवतीश्वरे ॥ ३४ ॥
yasmin mahad-guṇā rājan gṛhyante kavibhir muhuḥ na te ’dhunā pidhīyante yathā bhagavatīśvare
হে ৰাজন! প্ৰহ্লাদ মহাৰাজৰ মহৎ গুণসমূহ আজিও কবি-ঋষি আৰু বৈষ্ণৱ সাধুসকলে বাৰে বাৰে কীৰ্তন কৰে। যিদৰে সকলো শুভ গুণ ভগৱান পৰমেশ্বৰত নিত্য বিদ্যমান, তেনেদৰে সেই গুণসমূহ তেওঁৰ ভক্ত প্ৰহ্লাদৰ মাজতো চিৰকাল উজ্জ্বল থাকে।
From authoritative scripture it is learned that Prahlāda Mahārāja still lives in Vaikuṇṭhaloka as well as within this material world on the planet Sutala. This transcendental quality of existing simultaneously in different places is another qualification of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Goloka eva nivasaty akhilātma-bhūtaḥ: the Lord appears in the core of everyone’s heart, yet He exists on His own planet, Goloka Vṛndāvana. A devotee acquires qualities almost the same as those of the Lord because of unalloyed devotional service. Ordinary living beings cannot be so qualified, but a devotee can be qualified like the Supreme Personality of Godhead, not in full but partially.
This verse states that the wise repeatedly perceive and praise the Supreme Lord’s great qualities, yet those qualities never become exhausted or covered—His glories remain ever-fresh and limitless.
While narrating the events around Hiraṇyakaśipu and Prahlāda, Śukadeva emphasizes that Bhagavān’s transcendental qualities are uniquely inexhaustible—encouraging Parīkṣit to deepen faith in hearing and glorifying the Lord.
Return regularly to śravaṇa and kīrtana—hearing and chanting the Lord’s names and qualities—because unlike worldly topics that become stale, divine remembrance renews devotion and clarity again and again.
