Ambarīṣa’s Prayers to Sudarśana and the Deliverance of Durvāsā
yadi no bhagavān prīta ekaḥ sarva-guṇāśrayaḥ sarva-bhūtātma-bhāvena dvijo bhavatu vijvaraḥ
This verse shows Ambarisha Maharaja praying for the relief of Durvasa Muni—his offender—demonstrating that a true devotee seeks the welfare of all, trusting the Lord who dwells in everyone’s heart.
Although Durvasa had attacked him, Ambarisha remained fixed in devotion and compassion, praying that if the Lord was pleased, Durvasa should become free from the burning affliction caused by his offense.
When wronged, restrain revenge and pray or act for the other person’s reform and well-being, remembering the Lord is present in all hearts and that compassion strengthens spiritual character.
