अन्यस्यामपि भार्यायां शकले द्वे बृहद्रथात् । ये मात्रा बहिरुत्सृष्टे जरया चाभिसन्धिते । जीव जीवेति क्रीडन्त्या जरासन्धोऽभवत् सुत: ॥ ८ ॥
anyasyām api bhāryāyāṁ śakale dve bṛhadrathāt ye mātrā bahir utsṛṣṭe jarayā cābhisandhite jīva jīveti krīḍantyā jarāsandho ’bhavat sutaḥ
অন্য এগৰাকী পত্নীৰ গৰ্ভত বৃহদ্ৰথৰ পুত্ৰ দুটা খণ্ড হৈ জন্মিল। মাতৃয়ে সেয়া বাহিৰলৈ পেলাই দিলে; পাছত ‘জৰা’ নামৰ ৰাক্ষসীয়ে খেলতে খেলতে খণ্ডদ্বয় জোৰি “জীৱ, জীৱ” বুলি ক’লে; তেতিয়া জরাসন্ধ নামে পুত্ৰ জন্মিল।

Bhāgavatam 9.22.8 says Jarāsandha was born when two halves of a child from King Bṛhadratha’s wife were discarded, then the being named Jarā found them, joined them, and uttered “Live, live,” bringing the child to life.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates this genealogy and the extraordinary birth of Jarāsandha while describing the royal lineages to King Parīkṣit.
