لمّا ارتفع زئيرُ شِيفا الرهيبُ المخيف، فأفزع جموعَ الدايتيَة، اشتعلت المعركةُ اشتعالاً—إذ كان كلُّ واحدٍ يراهن بروحه. وفي المبارزة تقدّم دورودارا الجبّار، وقد ثبّت بصره على كثرة الأسلحة. وكان أندهاكا ابنُ هيرانيياكشا قائمًا في القتال على عربةٍ موثوقةٍ بألفِ حصان، مزوّدةٍ بثمانيةِ فيلةٍ هائجةٍ، ذاتِ بهاءٍ شرس؛ فخرج يلاقي شاتاكرتو (إندرا) سيّدَ الآلهة.
