Mahiṣāsura’s Conquest of Svarga and the Devas’ Appeal to Śiva and Viṣṇu
ततो निखिलदेवानां तेजोराशिसमुद्भवाम् । तामालोक्य सुरास्सर्वे परं हर्षं प्रपेदिरे
tato nikhiladevānāṃ tejorāśisamudbhavām | tāmālokya surāssarve paraṃ harṣaṃ prapedire
ثم لما أبصروا تلك التي نشأت من تراكُمِ أنوارِ جميعِ الآلهة، امتلأ كلُّ الدِّيفا بفرحٍ أسمى.

The verse highlights divine manifestation through concentrated tejas, showing how the gods’ limited powers culminate in a higher, grace-filled appearance—pointing devotees toward reliance on the Supreme (Pati) and His Śakti rather than mere celestial strength.
Just as the Linga is a Saguna focus for the Nirguna reality of Shiva, this manifestation presents Śakti in a perceivable form—affirming that devotees can approach the transcendent through sacred, embodied symbols and appearances sanctioned by the Purana.
A practical takeaway is tejas-centered devotion: worship Shiva with Panchakshara ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") while cultivating inner purity through bhasma/tripuṇḍra and steady japa, so the mind becomes fit to ‘behold’ divine presence with joy.
