Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
The verse highlights a Shaiva Siddhanta emphasis: mere outward karma is not the final aim; when karma is refined into yogadharma (inner discipline aligned to Shiva), the seeker becomes fit to receive liberating instruction and grace.
It implies that Saguna Shiva-worship (including Linga-upasana) should mature from external ritual into inward yoga—steadiness, purity, and surrender—so that worship becomes a means for Shiva’s instruction and spiritual fruition, not only merit-making.
The takeaway is to integrate karma with yoga: perform Shiva-puja with mantra-japa (especially Panchakshara, "Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), and cultivate inner restraint and meditation so that ritual action supports yogic realization.
