Suta Goswami (narrating the Shiva Purana lineage account to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
It preserves the sacred memory of dharmic lineages, showing how worldly order (dharma and kingship) is maintained under the higher governance of Pati (Śiva), even while souls (paśu) move through embodied histories.
Though genealogical, it situates human society within the Purāṇic cosmos where Saguna Śiva protects dharma; such lineage accounts commonly frame the context in which Shiva’s worship, vows, and temple traditions are later established by righteous rulers.
No specific ritual is prescribed in this verse; the practical takeaway is śravaṇa (reverent listening/recitation) of Purāṇic accounts with devotion to Śiva, which supports dharma-oriented living and remembrance of the divine order.
