Arjuna–Gaṇa Saṃvāda: Bāṇādhikāra, Tāpasa-veṣa, and the Ethics of Tapas (अर्जुन-गणसंवादः)
अथो किरातश्च पुनः प्रेषयामास तं चरम् । तन्मुखेन जगौ वाक्यम्भारताय महात्मने
atho kirātaśca punaḥ preṣayāmāsa taṃ caram | tanmukhena jagau vākyambhāratāya mahātmane
ثم إنَّ الكيراطا أرسلَ من جديدٍ ذلك الجاسوسَ الرسول؛ وعلى لسانه بلَّغ رسالةً إلى بهاراتا (أرجونا) العظيمِ النفس.
Suta Goswami (narrating the episode to the sages, reporting the narrative events)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
It shows how Shiva’s will operates through instruments: the Kirāta sends a messenger, indicating that divine guidance can arrive through seemingly ordinary intermediaries, preparing the devotee for grace through humility and receptivity.
The Kirāta is a Saguna manifestation—Shiva taking a concrete form to engage the devotee in a lived encounter. Such episodes affirm that Saguna forms and narratives lead the seeker toward steadfast devotion, which culminates in realization of Shiva as the supreme Pati.
A practical takeaway is attentive śravaṇa (listening) and mantra-smaraṇa: receive instruction with reverence and steady the mind with japa of the Panchākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as guidance unfolds.
