Invocation of Vīrabhadra/Bhairava for Cosmic Reabsorption
devatāparamārthajñaṃ māmeva paramamviduḥ | madaṃśāśśaktisampannā brahmaśakrādayassurāḥ
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
It affirms Shiva as Pati—the Supreme Reality—while explaining that even the highest devas function as empowered portions dependent on Him; liberation comes through recognizing this supreme lordship.
Linga-worship trains the devotee to see all divine powers as rooted in Shiva; honoring Saguna Shiva (as the accessible Lord) leads to insight into His supreme, all-supporting nature beyond the devas.
Single-pointed Shiva-bhakti—especially japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with the attitude that Shiva alone is supreme—aligns the mind away from deva-dependence toward devotion to Pati.
