Tattva Level: pati
Mantra: sampūrṇam astu
Role: liberating
Offering: dhupa
It teaches that worship becomes spiritually whole when it ends in humility—offering light and fragrance, affirming completion, and surrendering through namaskāra to Lord Shiva (Pati), the liberator of the bound soul (paśu).
Dhūpa (incense) and dīpa (lamp) are standard upacāras offered to the Shiva-Linga as Saguna Shiva, making the devotion tangible; the closing declaration “sampūrṇam astu” seals the rite and the final bow acknowledges Shiva as the receiver of all offerings.
Conclude Shiva-pūjā by offering dhūpa and dīpa, verbally dedicating the act (“sampūrṇam astu”), then standing and performing a heartfelt namaskāra—ideally while remembering the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
