अद्वैतशैवसिद्धान्ते पुरुष-प्रकृति-विचारः

बुद्धीन्द्रियाणि श्रोत्रं त्वक् चक्षुर्जिह्वा च नासिका । शब्दः स्पर्शश्च रूपं च रसो गन्धश्च गोचरः

buddhīndriyāṇi śrotraṃ tvak cakṣurjihvā ca nāsikā | śabdaḥ sparśaśca rūpaṃ ca raso gandhaśca gocaraḥ

It defines the five jñānendriyas (organs of cognition) and their objects, a key step in Shaiva yogic discernment: by knowing how awareness gets outwardly bound to sound, touch, form, taste, and smell, the seeker learns to withdraw the senses and turn consciousness toward Pati (Shiva) for liberation.

Linga-worship trains the mind to move from scattered sense-objects to a single sacred focus; by reducing attachment to the gocara (sense-fields), devotion becomes steadier, and Saguna Shiva becomes the doorway to realizing Shiva beyond sensory limitation.

Practice pratyāhāra (sense-withdrawal) during japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” ideally after applying Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and wearing Rudrākṣa, so the senses disengage from their objects and the mind rests in Shiva-remembrance.
