Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Sthala Purana: Kailāsa as Śiva’s transcendental abode; circumambulation of the ‘giri’ functions as a paradigmatic tīrtha-sādhana though not one of the 12 Jyotirliṅgas.
Significance: Daily pradakṣiṇā with niyama steadiness is portrayed as producing inner ānanda and ripening devotion toward liberating grace.
It highlights that steady daily discipline (niyama) joined with reverent pradakshina produces inner purification and spontaneous joy—signs of the soul turning toward Pati (Lord Shiva) beyond bondage (pāśa).
Circumambulation is a classic act of Saguna Shiva-bhakti—honoring Shiva’s sacred presence as accessible through holy places and symbols (like the Linga), while training the mind toward one-pointed remembrance.
Daily pradakshina performed with ādarā (reverence) and niyama—optionally accompanied by japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and simple observances like purity, restraint, and regular worship.
