الموضوع الرئيس: قوّة النصر الأيندرية التي تزيل العوائق وتؤمّن الغنم المبارك في طقس السُّوما. يُستدعى إندرا بوصفه كاسر السدود والموانع (vṛtra-tūr) وحاميًا في المنازلات، وقاتلًا للذمّ والكلام المعادي الموجَّه إلى القربان (aśasti-han). وتُدعى أُشَس (الفجر) لتقرن الخيل بالنير، وتقبل بالرخاء، وتطلق حركة الشعيرة بضياء افتتاحيّ ميمون. أمّا السُّوما بصفته بافامانا فيُستحضر في صورته المُنقّاة المُبهِجة: ينساب عبر المصفاة الصوفية (vāra)، ويدور ويَنفُذ إلى الآلهة، مانحًا نشوةً مقدّسة (mada) تُقوّي القربان وتضمّ جميع الآلهة ضمن المتلقّين. وتُصوَّر فاعلية الطقس كفتحٍ إلهي: كسرُ إندرا للعوائق وجريانُ السُّوما المُطهَّر معًا يُنتجان الظفر واليُمن (saubhaga) للياجمانا.

उषो अद्येह गोमत्यश्वावति विभावरि रेवदस्मे व्युच्छ सूनृतावति
يا أُشَس (Uṣas)، تعالي اليوم إلى هنا، غنيةً بالأبقار وغنيةً بالخيل؛ يا «Vibhāvarī» واسعةَ الإشراق؛ يا ذاتَ الغنى والمجد، أشرقي، مُتَحَلِّيَةً بـ«sūnṛtā»، لأجل طقسِنا.

परि त्यं हर्यतं हरिं बभ्रुं पुनन्ति वारेण यो देवान्विश्वां इत्परि मदेन सह गच्छति
