يُمتَدَح أغني بوصفه رسولًا إلهيًّا ومُعلِنَ الثناء: يحمل ترنيمة الغاياترا الجديدة و«السَني» (الظَّفَر/الاكتساب) لصاحب القربان ليُعلِنَها بين الآلهة. ثم يُستَدعى إندرا بوصفه القويَّ المُعطي والحامي، ليأتي، ويُفيضَ النماء، ويكسرَ العوائق (بوراندرا)، ويهبَ الغنى: الماشيةَ والخيلَ والوفرةَ المضاعفة (ألفًا ومئة). ويؤكّد الموضوع أن اليَجْنَة هي «فَاك» ناجعة: أغني يبلّغ القولَ الطقسيَّ إلى الدِّيفات، وإندرا يجيبُ بالمنح والحماية.

تعالَ حقًّا إلى العابد، يا العارفَ بالشعيرة؛ وامنحْ لنا «bhaga» (الحظَّ والنصيب) لبلوغ «vasu» (الثروة). زدْ لنا، يا مَادهافا، لنفوزَ في «gaviṣṭi» (منازلةِ البقر)؛ وزِدْ لنا، يا إندرا، «aśva» (فرسًا) لِمُرادِنا.
