उपदेशः / Sampati Instructed and the Search Mission Foretold
राजा दशरथो नाम कश्चिदिक्ष्वाकुनन्दनः।तस्य पुत्रो महातेजा रमोनाम भविष्यति।।4.62.4।।
rājā daśaratho nāma kaścid ikṣvāku-nandanaḥ | tasya putro mahā-tejā rāmo nāma bhaviṣyati ||
في سلالة إكشڤاكو سيكون ملكٌ يُدعى داشاراثا؛ وسيولد له ابنٌ عظيمُ البهاء يُدعى راما.
'I also want to see Rama and Lakshmana. But I do not like to hold on to my life for long. Hence I will give up my body'. The knower of self, the sage (Nishakara) said this to Sampati.ityārṣē śrīmadrāmāyaṇē vālmīkīya ādikāvyē kiṣkindhākāṇḍē dviṣaṣṭitama ssargaḥ৷৷Thus ends the sixtysecond sarga in Kishkindakanda of the first epic, the Holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.
Dharma is presented as continuity of righteous lineage and responsibility: the coming of Rāma is framed within a royal line tasked with upholding order and truth.
The sage begins specifying the prophecy by naming Daśaratha and the birth of Rāma, anchoring the “great task” in identifiable persons.
Tejas (moral-spiritual brilliance) as a sign of fitness for dhārmic leadership.
