Praise of Hanumān and the Gift of the Signet Ring
sa tad gṛhya hariśreṣṭhaḥ sthāpya mūrdhni kṛtāñjaliḥ | vanditvā caraṇau caiva prasthitaḥ plavagottamaḥ || 4.44.15 ||
Like the moon adorned by hosts of stars in the cloudless sky, the mighty heroic Hanuman, the great son of the Wind-god, shone in the midst of the army of monkeys.
Dharma is humble service: honoring the righteous leader and undertaking the assigned duty with reverence and prompt action.
Hanumān accepts Rāma’s ring, reverently salutes, and departs to begin the search.
Hanumān’s devotion, humility, and readiness to act.
