Lakshmana Enters Kishkindha: Anger, Tara’s Mediation, and Sugriva Encountered
तेन चापस्वनेनाथ सुग्रीवः प्लवगाधिपः।विज्ञायाऽगमनं त्रस्त स्सञ्चचाल वरासनात्।।।।
tena cāpasvanenātha sugrīvaḥ plavagādhipaḥ | vijñāyāgamanam trastaḥ sañcacāla varāsanāt ||
وبذلك الرنين الصادر من القوس أدرك سُغريفا، سيدُ القردة، قدومَه؛ فاضطرب خوفًا ونهض مسرعًا من عرشه.
Then, sensing the arrival of Lakshmana, by the sound of his bow string, Sugriva the lord of vanaras, alighted at once from the throne.
Accountability to one’s pledged duty: Sugrīva’s fear reflects awareness that failing promised action (helping Rāma) brings moral and social consequence.
Lakṣmaṇa approaches Kishkindhā; Sugrīva infers the arrival from the bow’s sound and reacts anxiously.
Alertness and recognition of consequence—Sugrīva quickly understands the situation and responds without delay.
