Consolation of Tara and Counsel on Succession
śocyā śocasi kaṃ śocyaṃ dīnaṃ dīnā ’nukampase | kasya ko vā ’nuśocyo ’sti dehe ’smin budbudopame ||
On hearing Hanuman's words, Tara, tormented by the death of her husband said to Hanuman who was waiting for her reply:
Detachment grounded in truth (satya) about impermanence: recognizing the body’s fragility helps one return to dharmic duty rather than be consumed by sorrow.
Hanumān challenges Tārā’s intense lament by reminding her that embodied life is transient.
Spiritual clarity: the ability to speak truth that steadies others during crisis.
