Visvamitra grants refuge; the curse upon Vasishta’s sons
सर्वान् शिष्यान् समाहूय वाक्यमेतदुवाच ह।सर्वानृषिगणान्वत्सा आनयध्वं ममाज्ञया।सशिष्यसुहृदश्चैव सर्त्विज स्सबहुश्रुतान्।।1.59.7।।
sarvān śiṣyān samāhūya vākyam etad uvāca ha |
sarvān ṛṣigaṇān vatsā ānayadhvaṃ mamājñayā |
saśiṣyasuhṛdaś caiva sartvijassabahuśrutān ||1.59.7||
فجمع جميع تلاميذه وقال هذه الكلمات: «يا أبنائي، بأمري أحضروا إلى هنا جميع جماعات الرِّشيّين، مع تلاميذهم وأصدقائهم، ومع الكهنة القائمين بالشعائر، ومع العلماء الراسخين في التقليد المقدّس.»
He summoned all his disciples, and said, "Children! bring here hosts of rishis along with their disciples and friends, officiating priests and persons well-versed in the Srutis. This is my order.
Dharma is upheld through collective sacred responsibility: yajña is not private ambition but a regulated act supported by qualified seers, priests, and learning.
