Sarga 15: The Devas’ Petition, the Means to Slay Ravana, and Vishnu’s Commission to Incarnate as Man
एवमुक्तस्तु देवेशो विष्णुस्त्रिदशपुङ्गव:।पितामहपुरोगांस्तान्सर्वलोकनमस्कृत:।।1.15.25।।अब्रवीत्त्रिदशान्सर्वान्समेतान्धर्मसंहितान् ।।1.15.26।।
evam uktas tu deveśo viṣṇus tridaśapuṅgavaḥ | pitāmahapuro-gāṁs tān sarvalokanamaskṛtaḥ || 1.15.25 ||
وهكذا خوطب فيشنو - رب الآلهة، وأبرز السماويين، والمبجل من قبل جميع العوالم - فالتفت نحو تلك الآلهة المجتمعة تحت قيادة براهما.
Visnu, the lord of the celestials, foremost among the gods and bowed by all in the worlds addressed the assembled devatas who were guided by the law of righteousness and were led by the grand sire, Brahma.
Dharma is portrayed as cosmic order upheld through rightful counsel: even supreme power responds to a righteous collective appeal led by Brahmā.
After the gods petition for relief from Rāvaṇa, Viṣṇu prepares to respond to their request.
Responsiveness to righteous supplication and reverence for lawful, ordered deliberation.
