The sages (Ṛṣayaḥ)
Concept: Reverent inquiry into sacred places is a gateway to dharma: knowing names and locations supports pilgrimage, remembrance, and ritual correctness.
Application: Keep a personal ‘tirtha-map’: learn one river/mountain/holy site weekly; pair knowledge with a small practice (japa, charity, Ekadashi resolve) to turn information into devotion.

Sandhi Resolution Notes: ऋषय ऊचुः = ऋषयः + ऊचुः (विसर्ग-लोपः)। चान्ये = च + अन्ये। भूमिमाश्रिताः = भूमिम् + आश्रिताः (म् + आ सन्धिः)।
The sages ask for a comprehensive listing of names—rivers, mountains, provinces (janapadas), and other earthly places.
It primarily signals a sacred-geographical and encyclopedic focus, setting up a catalog-style description of the world.
It reflects a disciplined pursuit of complete knowledge—seeking clarity, correct naming, and systematic understanding of the world.
