Sesame (tila) and darbha are classic ritual substances used in offerings—especially ancestral rites and sacred donations—symbolizing purification and continuity. The verse highlights an approved ritual form of dāna (offering).
It means the sanctifying potency of a holy place. The idea is that the location’s sacred status amplifies the spiritual fruit of the offering, making it 'akṣaya' (inexhaustible).
The verse teaches intentional giving: perform simple, pure offerings with proper ritual care, and choose sacred contexts (tīrthas) to deepen merit—emphasizing faith, discipline, and generosity.
