Unspecified (Svarga-khaṇḍa tīrtha-māhātmya narration; likely within a Pulastya–Bhīṣma frame, but not explicit from the provided verse alone).

Concept: Some tīrthas carry such concentrated śakti that mere contact through snāna elevates one to honored status in a higher loka.

Application: Seek ‘cooling’ practices—truthfulness, moderation, clean habits, time near water/nature—to cultivate a Soma-like mind that becomes worthy of honor and clarity.

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"On the banks of Chandrabhāgā, moonlight silvers the river as a lone bather steps into the current, and the water seems to glow with a gentle, lunar sheen. Above, a translucent vision of Soma-loka appears—pearl-white palaces and a crescent throne—signaling that the bather is ‘honored’ there by the mere act of snāna.","primary_figures":["a pilgrim bather","Soma (Chandra) as celestial deity","river personification (Chandrabhāgā-devī, optional)"],"setting":"wide riverbank with reeds and smooth stones, a small lamp on the shore, distant trees and a faint shrine silhouette","lighting_mood":"moonlit","color_palette":["pearl white","moon-silver","midnight blue","sea-green","soft lavender"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Chandrabhāgā river rendered with stylized waves; a pilgrim bathing; above, Soma seated on a crescent throne with gold leaf halo and pearl-like ornamentation; rich borders, embossed gold highlights, deep blues and greens, temple iconography framing the celestial vision.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: serene moonlit river scene with delicate ripples; pale moon and soft gradients; a faint, dreamy Soma-loka in the sky like a watercolor apparition; refined figure proportions, cool palette, lyrical quietness.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines, flat midnight-blue river field with silver-white highlights; Soma deity with characteristic large eyes and crescent emblem; the bather in simplified form; decorative borders and natural pigment palette adapted to nocturnal tones.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: lotus and floral border motifs; moon and crescent symbols at top; river filled with stylized lotuses and fish; Soma-loka as an ornate pearl-white pavilion; deep indigo cloth background with gold and silver detailing, intricate patterns."}

FAQs

It states that simply bathing at the Chandrabhāgā tīrtha grants exaltation—being honored in Somaloka, the realm associated with Soma (the Moon).

A tīrtha-yātrā practice: traveling to a sacred river/place and performing snāna (a ritually mindful bath) as a meritorious act.

It highlights faith in sacred places and disciplined observance: even a simple act, when done at a revered tīrtha with proper intent, is presented as spiritually elevating.
