FAQs

They are portrayed as armed guardians (dhanurdharāḥ) appointed for protection, acting as enforcers of a command rather than as ordinary humans.

It presents a conflict between obedience to authority (“our command”) and the gravity of harming one’s own father, raising questions about duty, hierarchy, and moral responsibility.

It contrasts ordinary human agency with beings acting under a higher mandate, emphasizing that the act is framed as divinely driven or supra-human rather than personal human violence.
