Himālaya (Himagiri)

FAQs

‘Himagiri’ literally means “the snow-mountain,” a common Purāṇic epithet for the Himālaya range, often used to situate events in a sacred and majestic northern setting.

Not directly. This verse is primarily narrative and descriptive, setting a scene (a swift journey and a palace setting) rather than stating an explicit devotional or philosophical teaching.

It heightens the grandeur and auspiciousness of the setting, signaling royal or divine-level splendor and preparing the reader for an important encounter in the narrative.
