Narrator (context not specified in the provided excerpt; likely a creation-account voice describing ritual constituents being manifested)

Concept: Ritual completeness includes purification (prokṣaṇī), remuneration (dakṣiṇā), community (sadas), and learned functionaries—dharma is social, material, and spiritual when rooted in the sacred.

Application: Honor the ‘supporting roles’ in any sacred work; give fair compensation; complete tasks with a ‘purifying closure’ (review, gratitude, restitution).

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Type: temple

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A grand sacrificial hall is alive with ordered activity: the adhvaryu measures and sprinkles with the prokṣaṇī, the sāmaga sings in a resonant cadence, and learned brāhmaṇas sit as sadasyas in solemn assembly. At the edge, a shimmering water area suggests the avabhṛtha bath, while dakṣiṇā—cloth, gold, and grain—rests respectfully prepared for gifting.","primary_figures":["Adhvaryu priest","Sāmaga singer-priest","learned Brāhmaṇa","sadasyas (ritual assembly members)"],"setting":"spacious yajña-śālā with pillars, vedī, ritual vessels, offering area, and nearby water for avabhṛtha","lighting_mood":"golden dawn","color_palette":["burnished gold","river blue","saffron","ivory","smoke gray"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: expansive yajña hall with gold leaf accents on pillars and vessels; adhvaryu holding prokṣaṇī, sāmaga singing with palm-leaf notation, sadasyas seated in rows; dakṣiṇā piles rendered with jewel-like highlights; a small water tank for avabhṛtha at one side, all framed by ornate floral borders and Vaishnava conch-disc motifs.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: elegant courtly-sacrificial scene with delicate architecture, soft morning light; priests in white with saffron borders, subtle depiction of sprinkling and singing; a calm blue water edge for avabhṛtha; refined faces and gentle gestures, cool palette with warm fire glow.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlined ritual hall, strong primary pigments; adhvaryu and sāmaga prominently posed, sadasyas in rhythmic repetition; stylized water panel for avabhṛtha; decorative border with lotus and geometric motifs, temple-wall grandeur.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: ritual hall stylized as a lotus mandala; intricate borders with garlands and floral vines; deep blue background with gold detailing; repeated small motifs of kalasha, ladle, and conch; peacocks at corners, integrating yajña order into devotional textile aesthetics."}

FAQs

It lists the ritual instruments, fees, priests, and the sacrificial assembly as part of the created order—presenting yajña (sacrifice) as a foundational structure of cosmic and social life.

The Adhvaryu is the Yajurvedic officiant responsible for the practical execution of the sacrifice, while the Sāmaga is the Sāmavedic singer who chants melodic hymns during the rite.

It underscores reciprocity and rightful support of sacred duties: ritual action is paired with proper giving, honoring those who preserve and perform the tradition.
