Narada (teaching in a Tirtha/Mahatmya narrative frame)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It emphasizes the immense, immeasurable merit (punya) attributed to dharmic charity—especially gifts connected with the cow—by expressing the reward as countless as the hair-pores on the cow and her calf.
Though framed as a merit statement, it supports bhakti-oriented dharma by encouraging offerings and righteous giving done in a sacred context, which purifies the heart and becomes supportive of devotion and worship.
Ritual pragmatics (kalpa/ācāra) are implied: the verse uses a standard Purana style of stating dāna-phala (results of charity), guiding practitioners on the religious value of properly performed giving in tirtha settings.
