तर्पितास्तेन पितरस्त्वङ्मांसरुधिरास्थिभिः । जले स्थित्वा स्थले दत्तं स्थले स्थित्वा जलेऽर्पितम् ॥ ६५ ॥
tarpitāstena pitarastvaṅmāṃsarudhirāsthibhiḥ | jale sthitvā sthale dattaṃ sthale sthitvā jale'rpitam || 65 ||
وبذلك الفعل تُشبَعُ البِتْرُ (أرواحُ الأسلاف) كأنها بجلدٍ ولحمٍ ودمٍ وعظمٍ—كأن ما يُقدَّمُ والمرءُ قائمٌ في الماء يُعطى على اليابسة، وما يُقدَّمُ وهو قائمٌ على اليابسة يُلقى في الماء.

Kalpa (ritual procedure) is implied—proper deśa (place), kāla (timing), and vidhi (method) determine whether dāna/tarpaṇa yields puṇya or becomes a flawed, counterproductive act.
