त्वामेव शरणं प्राप्ता पितुर्वचनगौरवात् । तद्भवान्प्रणताया मे गंगामाहात्म्यंसंयुतम् । देवताराधनं ब्रूहि यच्छ्रुत्वा मुच्यते ह्यघात् ॥ ५ ॥

tvāmeva śaraṇaṃ prāptā piturvacanagauravāt | tadbhavānpraṇatāyā me gaṃgāmāhātmyaṃsaṃyutam | devatārādhanaṃ brūhi yacchrutvā mucyate hyaghāt || 5 ||

لقد جئتُ إليك وحدك ملجأً، تعظيمًا لوصية أبي. فلهذا، أيها المبجَّل، علِّمني—وأنا المنحني بين يديك—عبادةَ الآلهة مع بيان عظمة نهر الغانغا؛ فإن من يسمع ذلك يتحرر حقًّا من الخطيئة.
