पार्थै: संयुज्यमानस्य नेदुर्मत्स्यस्य वेश्मनि । भक्ष्यान्नभोज्यपानानि प्रभूतान्यभ्यहारयन्‌,तदनन्तर कुन्तीपुत्रोंके साथ सम्बन्ध स्थापित करनेवाले मत्स्यनरेशके महलमें शंख, नगाड़े, गोमुख और डम्बर आदि भाँति-भाँतिके बाजे बजने लगे। साथ ही उन्होंने खानेयोग्य अन्न, भोज्य और पीने आदिकी सामग्री भी प्रचुर मात्रामें प्रस्तुत की

pārthaiḥ saṃyujyamānasya nedur matsyasya veśmani | bhakṣyānna-bhojya-pānāni prabhūtāny abhyahārayan ||

قال فايشَمبايانا: لما كان ملكُ المَتسْيَا يُقْدِمُ على عقدِ الحِلْفِ مع أبناءِ پِرِثَا (الباندافا)، دوَّت أصداءُ الأصدافِ والطبولِ على اختلافها في أرجاءِ قصره. وفي الوقت نفسه أُخرجت مؤنٌ وافرة—أطعمةٌ تُؤكَل، وأطباقٌ تُتَلَذَّذ، ومشارب—بغزارة، إيذانًا بالترحيب الرسمي وتوثيقِ العُرى بالضيافة والاحتفالِ على مرأى الناس.
