Chapter 58: Arjuna’s Deployment of the Indra-Weapon
स तु लब्ध्वान्तरं तूर्णमपायाज्जवनैह्यै: । छिन्नवर्मध्वज: शूरो निकृत्त: परमेषुभि:
sa tu labdhvāntaraṃ tūṛṇam apāyāj javanaiḥ hayaiḥ | chinnavarma-dhvajaḥ śūro nikṛttaḥ parameṣubhiḥ ||
قال فايشَمبايانا: لما وجد ثغرةً انسحب مسرعًا، وهو يحثّ خيله السريعة. فقد مزّقت سهام أرجونا المختارة درعَ ذلك البطل ورايتَه إربًا، وأُصيب هو نفسه بجراحٍ بالغة؛ لذلك انتهز اللحظة وفرّ من ذلك الموضع. وتُبرز هذه الحادثة خُلُقًا من أخلاق ساحة القتال: إذ تُختار التراجُعُ الحِكميّ حين تُقوَّض القدرة على القتال قوضًا حاسمًا، صونًا للحياة والقوة لِمواجهةٍ لاحقةٍ أَوْفَقَ بالدَّرما، بدلًا من التعرّض لهلاكٍ عقيم.
