वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined discernment in action: when a revered authority figure approaches in a tense situation, a leader like Arjuna responds with thoughtful speech aligned with duty (dharma), not impulsive emotion.
As a golden chariot carrying a figure regarded as ‘guru’ comes near, Arjuna—renowned for victory—turns to Uttara and begins instructing or directing him, setting the stage for the next actions in the episode.
