The colophon emphasizes how narratives mark moral turning points: the mention of ominous portents (utpāta, apaśakuna) frames coming conflict as ethically charged, suggesting that adharma-driven aggression invites disorder and forewarning in the world’s signs.
This is a concluding colophon stating that the forty-sixth chapter has ended. It situates the chapter within Virāṭa Parva’s Goharaṇa episode, at the time of Uttara’s taking up the chariot role, and notes that the chapter’s content concerns portents and inauspicious omens.
