Decision to Reside in Virāṭa’s City
kathayitvā tu tat sarvaṃ brāhmaṇebhyo yudhiṣṭhiraḥ | araṇīsahitaṃ tasmai brāhmaṇāya nyavedayat ||
Even under pressure and uncertainty, one should act according to dharma—showing respect to Brahmins and safeguarding sacred implements by entrusting them responsibly rather than treating them carelessly.
After explaining the situation to the assembled Brahmins, Yudhiṣṭhira hands over the araṇī (fire-kindling apparatus) to a particular Brahmin, indicating a deliberate act of entrustment connected with ritual propriety and their circumstances.
