उनके ऐसा कहनेपर श्रीरामचन्द्रजीने कहा--“भगवन्‌! आपको इस तरह आक्षेप नहीं करना चाहिये ।। नाहमप्यधमो धर्मे क्षत्रियाणां द्विजातिषु । इक्ष्वाकूणां विशेषेण बाहुवीर्यें न कत्थनम्‌,“मैं भी समस्त द्विजातियोंमें क्षत्रियरर्मका पालन करनेमें अधम नहीं हूँ। विशेषतः इक्ष्वाकुवंशी क्षत्रिय अपने बाहुबलकी प्रशंसा नहीं करते”

nāham apy adhamaḥ dharme kṣatriyāṇāṁ dvijātiṣu | ikṣvākūṇāṁ viśeṣeṇa bāhuvīrye na katthanam ||

فلمّا قال ذلك، أجابه شري راماتشاندرا: «أيها المبجَّل، لا ينبغي لك أن تعاتبني على هذا النحو. فلستُ دون غيري في إقامة دارما الكشاتريا بين ذوي الميلادين. وعلى الأخصّ في سلالة إكشواكو، لا يتباهى الكشاتريا بقوة سواعدهم.»
