Educational Q&A

The verse highlights a dharmic social ideal: major life events—especially birth—are affirmed through auspicious speech, communal blessing, and the guidance of learned elders. Naming is presented as a sanctifying act that integrates the child into a moral and cultural order.

A daughter is born to the king of Vidarbha. Overjoyed, he shares the good news with the Brahmins, who congratulate and bless the child and formally give her the name Lopāmudrā.
