अगस्त्यस्य वित्तयाचनं तथा इल्वलोपभिक्षणनिर्णयः

ततः प्रसवसंतानं चिन्तयन् भगवानृषि: । आत्मन: प्रसवस्यार्थे नापश्यत् सदृशीं स्त्रियम्,तब भगवान् महर्षि अगस्त्यने संतानोत्पादनकी चिन्ता करते हुए अपने अनुरूप संतानको गर्भमें धारण करनेके लिये योग्य पत्नीका अनुसंधान किया, परंतु उन्हें कोई योग्य स्त्री दिखायी नहीं दी
tataḥ prasava-santānaṁ cintayan bhagavān ṛṣiḥ | ātmanaḥ prasavasyārthe nāpaśyat sadṛśīṁ striyam ||
ثم إنّ الحكيم المبارك، وهو يتأمّل في الإنجاب واستمرار نسله، أخذ يلتمس زوجةً تليق بأن تحمل ولدًا يوازيه قدرًا؛ غير أنّه لم يرَ امرأةً تماثله وتصلح لذلك الغرض.
